We endeavour to process and despatch all orders placed between Monday-Thursday within 48 hours. However, orders received on a Friday will not be processed until the next working day. The exceptions to this rule are the Scottish Islands, please see below for delivery information to these areas and Puppy packs which can take up to 1 week to be processed.

About our services

  • Orders comprising of more than one item will be delivered in full. If an item(s) is out of stock, we will contact you by email, telephone or fax to advise when the item will be available again and ask how you wish to proceed. You will have the option to wait until the item(s) is back in stock or you will be able to cancel it from your order.
  • Orders placed over the weekend or a Bank Holiday will be processed on the next working day.
  • We will deliver directly to the address specified on your order; we cannot deliver items within the same order to multiple addresses.
  • You can leave delivery instructions at the third stage of the checkout process, e.g. ‘Please leave goods in porch’ or ‘We are on an unmarked road; please turn right opposite The Swan pub and carry on to the end of the lane’.
  • Deliveries over a certain weight and/or value will require a signature to confirm receipt of goods. Therefore please consider giving us the most suitable day time address to deliver to.
  • We cannot guarantee an exact time of delivery but it will be within working hours, Monday-Friday. 
  • Once your order is delivered we are not obliged to undertake any additional carrying of the goods thereafter. 
  • The maximum delivery weight is 150kg.

Mainland UK

  • All deliveries will be handled by UKMail (An alternative courier maybe used in the Scottish Highlands & Islands) and will require a signature.
  • The delivery charge can be calculated in your basket prior to proceeding to the checkout and will be based on the total weight of your order.
  • Discounts will be applied if items in your basket are associated with any P&P offer running.
  • If no-one is available to take receipt of the goods, a card will be left by the courier. If you do not contact them, your goods will be sent out the next day for 3 consecutive days until delivery is achieved. Thereafter they will be returned to us and it is your responsibility to contact us to discuss how we proceed.

Orders over 2kg

  • All deliveries will be handled by UKMail (An alternative courier maybe used in the Scottish Highlands & Islands).
  • All deliveries will be left in a safe place at the discretion of the driver unless you specify otherwise at the checkout, for example 'Please leave in porch at the rear of the house'.
  • The delivery charge can be calculated in your basket prior to proceeding to the checkout and will be based on the total weight of your order.
  • Discounts will be applied if items in your basket are associated with any P&P offer running.
  • If no-one is available to take receipt of the goods, a card will be left by the courier. If you do not contact them, your goods will be sent out the next day for 3 consecutive days until delivery is achieved. Thereafter they will be returned to us and it is your responsibility to contact us to discuss how we proceed.

Orders under 2kg

  • All deliveries will be made by Royal Mail and will be charged by weight.
  • Royal Mail will leave a card if they are unable to deliver your goods, with instructions on how to go about collecting your parcel.

Certain area of Scotland are subject to different delivery charges, which are detailed as follows in the table below. The Scottish Highlands comprise of the following postcodes:

Cancellations & returns

In the event that you wish to cancel an order, you are able to do so at any stage before it is despatched and up to 14 days afterwards. Please note that there are some restrictions and full details can be found in our Terms & Conditions.

Changes to your order

If you realise you have made a mistake with your order, please notify us as soon as possible, or within 12 hours, and we will gladly discuss how to resolve this with you.

Late or incomplete orders

We hope that your order will always be delivered in full and in good condition. If however your order hasn’t arrived when expected or is incomplete, please contact us on 01832 737300 or email us at info@dodsonandhorrellpetfood.co.uk to discuss an exchange or refund.

Damaged goods

Regrettably we cannot accept back damaged goods. However, we will gladly discuss an exchange or refund with you and would ask that you contact us on 01832 737300 or email us at info@dodsonandhorrellpetfood.co.uk in the first instance.

Non-delivered items

  • Orders over £150
